The prototyping lab will specifically serve student learning associated with technology. It will be the primary location of the Artificial Intelligence Institute which focuses on emerging technologies.

By providing cutting edge resources, the prototyping lab will allow students to explore and discover their passions in a purpose built facility, exposing students to technologies as they come on-line.

This includes more traditional technology like robotics (land and aquatic), computer programming, hardware building and basic circuitry, but also explore and develop artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality assets (some of which are being minted as NFTs), exploration of block-chain technologies, and developing IoT products that will improve the production and management of our indoor aeroponic community supported agriculture (CSA).

The Institute classroom is located within the prototyping lab . Classes meeting in this space will also have convenient access to the design lab, digital media lab, and breakout areas for hands-on experiential learning.

The student center patio will be an outdoor space on the ground floor. It is adjacent to the café and overlooks the soccer field. During the academic day, the patio will be a place for studying and socializing. During late afternoons and on weekends, the school community will gather there for student programming and watching athletics.

Leading from Schoolhouse Road, Ahlborn Way will be a first contact point for all visitors to Perkiomen, including prospective students and their families, university admissions officers, and athletic competitors. For alumni returning to campus, this view will blend the familiar with the new and welcome them home to their old stomping grounds. Winding down the green landscapes, passing through the athletic fields, and ending at the student drop-off circle, this scenic entryway will leave a lasting first impression of Perkiomen’s beautiful grounds and striking architecture for all who make their way to campus.

Visible from a number of points on campus, the Victory Bell Plaza in the heart of campus will be the place to recognize athletic victories, Convocation, Commencement, and other community celebrations. Through the years, the ringing of the bell will become a key tradition at Perkiomen School, representing honor, achievement, and school spirit. Reserved for special occasions, its iconic tone will leave a lasting imprint for generations of Perkiomenites, drawing alumni back to their alma mater.

Located on the ground floor of Kehs Hall, the music rehearsal suite will include three practice rooms as well as the choral and ensemble room. These practice spaces will be open for students’ individual and group use during the academic day.

Visible from the exterior, those passing by the ensemble room can watch fellow community members rehearse music, inspiring them to take part as well. Whether students wish to use these spaces to pursue a lifelong passion or explore a new interest, all will be welcome.

Just outside the choral and ensemble room and facing the heart of campus, Finnegan’s on the Green will serve as an outdoor music venue. Event attendees will gather on the campus green to watch performances such as concerts and theater improv when weather permits.

Located on the ground floor of the new student center, the Group Practice Room serves as a practice space whenever the building is open. Even when Kehs Hall is closed during the weekends and evenings, groups of student musicians will use this space in the student center to rehearse performances and hold jam sessions. Visible through glass panels from the Common, spectators can watch their peers and even join in.
